In partnership with the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino and Forbes Magazine, elit™ by Stolichnaya® raised the curtain on the redesigned Forbes Galleries in Greenwich Village, New York City, on the evening of December 7, 2011.
Renamed as 60 Fifth, this private club, art gallery, and event space is home to items from the late Malcolm Forbes' immense private art collection, including many original works by Edward Hopper, Barkley Hendricks, and Salvador Dalí, among others. The opening soiree also served as a private preview of the exhibition "A Painting Journey to France and Spain: John Moyers, Curt Walters, Terri Kelly Moyers" in the BC Forbes Gallery.
Upon arrival, each guest was handed a card with a unique three-digit combination and instructed to locate the seven wooden lockboxes scattered throughout the galleries. If the combination successfully unlocked one of the boxes, the guest was rewarded with a unique holiday prize, courtesy of Hommage Atelier. The duo of Gigi and Jonathan, a live electric violinist and a DJ, was enough to magnetize the dance floor, while roving magician Simon Winthrop thrilled partygoers with his offbeat illusions.
